How paying works

You pay from a Medukul wallet in naira. There is no subscription: you pay for the consultations you have.

  • Add money by card, bank transfer or USSD. Payments are processed securely by Flutterwave. Medukul never sees your card details.
  • Each doctor's rate per minute is shown in the app before you book. You pay for the time you actually talk.
  • You need a minimum balance to start a consultation. The app shows the current amount on the Add money screen.
  • During a call, money for the next part of the call is held in your wallet. When the call ends, only the time you talked is charged.
  • If your balance runs low during a call, the app warns you about 5 minutes before your paid time ends. Tap Top up to add money without hanging up, or wrap up the call.

Every doctor is checked before you can book them

How we verify doctors

  • Doctors send their medical degree certificate, their current annual practising licence and their Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) registration details.
  • Our review team checks the documents and the registration before approving the doctor.
  • A doctor appears in the app only once approved, and only while their licence is in date. We remind doctors before it expires and check each renewed licence again.

What doctors need to join

How we protect your information

  • We handle your personal and health information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
  • Payments go through Flutterwave's secure checkout. Card, bank and PIN details never reach Medukul.
  • Lab result files open inside the app and are not saved to your phone's gallery.
